About the WOSS Dual Olympiad

The WOSS Dual Olympiad is a Math and Computer Science Competition, held in the WOSS South Campus Cafeteria, between December 16 and December 17.

It is held on two seperate days, with two rounds within one day - the first day is for Math, where participants will be solving math problems either in the individual round, or the team round.

The second day will be focusing on Computer Science. The individual section has two divisions - Junior and Senior (Junior is easier, Senior is harder). Team rounds are equal difficulty. Participants will be solving programming problems on DMOJ with their language of choice.

Participants may participate in any or all four rounds.

Rules

Teams consist of one to three (1 – 3) students from White Oaks Secondary School.
- There are exceptions, reach out via Discord for more info.
Scientific calculators are allowed for all rounds.
- NO graphing calculators permitted!
All submissions will be done electronically; please bring a charged device.
- Submission for Mathematics Rounds will be done through Google Form on your own device.
- Bring a computer for the Computer Science Rounds.
Tiebreaking for prizes for mathematics will be done fairly based on problem difficulty, calculated as the sum of (problem points) * (100% − (percent of people answered correctly)).
Tiebreaking for prizes for computer science will be done based on speed.

Format

Mathematics Individual

50 Minutes
25 Problems
- Part A: 10 Problems, 5 Points each
- Part B: 10 Problems, 6 Points each
- Part C: 5 Problems, 8 Points each
Total: out of 150
No points for leaving blank
No penalty for incorrect answers or guessing
Answers are integers from 0 to 99

Mathematics Team

50 Minutes
5 Multi-Part Problems
Total: out of 60
No points for leaving blank

Answers are integers from 0 to 99

Computer Science Individual

50 Minutes
3 Problems
- 100 points for each fully accepted submission
Total: out of 300
